Getting Ready For The Windy City

My last minute ass is suppose to be packing right now but, of course I’ve found time to blog. I’m extremely tired right now because I’ve been up since 6 oclock. Don’t even ask me why I’m up at 6 when I don’t have to be at work until 9. BUT I guess that what happens when you live with extremely loud people who get up earlier than you do and  like to flick on lights. Anywho, tomorrow I leave for Chicago to train for my new job. I think this is the laziest I’ve ever been when it’s came to packing. Usually I totally overpack with a variety of things to wear and too many shoes but, I’m not even in the mood. Plus I’ll be in training for most of the day so who gives a hoot what my Black ass is wearing. Another thing too, we’re always screaming how cold it is in “The D” but, we aint got nothing on Chicago. The Windy City does NOT play. I was there last December and I wore tights underneath my jeans, shirts and sweaters, boots, a pea coat, a hat, and gloves and I was freezing within about 3 minutes (literally) of being outside.

I guess I’m a little excited to escape from my household and Detroit for a minute but, I’m wondering who the hell my roomate is going to be. They were saying today at work that we might get lucky and have our own room since that’s what happened last year. I’m hoping that’s what’s going to happen because that way I don’t have to have my Ipod in my ears at night and I can listen to my music the way I prefer. Also, I can watch my L Word DVDs without having to wear headphones or having some stranger glancing over at me like why is she watching that. Honestly, the anti-social part of me doesn’t really want to be bothered.

Initially, I told myself that after the training I was going to head downtown and hit a few clubs and lounges up like I usually do when I visit the Chi but, I’m a little partied out right now. Last week I went out almost every night in celebration of my birthday and a friend of mines and now I’m still exhausted. I’m still trying to recover so I think I’m just going to enjoy the comfort of my “banchee & nosey mother” free hotel room. Also, don’t worry I’m taking my laptop with me so I’ll be blogging while I’m there. In the mean time and in between time I’m going to get back to my laundry and packing.
